Hmm...

It appears cucumbers inflate the same way balloon animal balloons do.

Bet you can't make a balloon dog out of one!

is it just me, or does that second photo contain a shadow on the fence in the background that's roughly shaped like the continental United States?

Ever since the hatch blew, the vegetables on "the island" didn't seem to grow properly, and would frequently look odd...

Why do a get the feeling that cuke is about to explode?

Jorge, I really admire your green thumb. You take so much time setting up the environment so that your garden will thrive. Good job. We can't seem to grow much of anything here. (central Illinois) Our garden is also where a house use to sit and it seems to just not want to oblige us with produce.

I just collected my first harvest! Check it out!

Those cukes are so oddly shaped. Weird. But they are probably still tasty...homegrown always are! I'll be lucky to get any tomatoes this year. They aren't doing so hot. :-(

Balloon animals never looked so delicious.

They deflate the same way when you keep them in the fridge too long...I wish I didn't know this.

Wow, you're cucumbers are even scarier than mine. Although, I found one in the back last week that looked like the big yellow one you have when you returned from your trip.

mine are doing the same thing here in austin...crazy, but your's look like they'll be tasty in a salad, mine are very stunted right now due to the hot hot hot summer we are having and no rain... you can always slice them and eat with slices of fresh cheddar cheese, my daughter's favorite snack..;)

I bet they taste very yummy!

Uh.....don't they grow on the ground like zucchini? And, maybe they grow like that because the tops are closer to the sun? Or, maybe I just don't know cucumbers. Love them. Don't know anything about growing them. Maybe they need those sun lights for folks with seasonal affective disorder underneath them?

The Lost fan community is doing a huge rewatch event this hiatus as we go back and see things with "Season 5 Eyes". The Lostaholics REwatch Lost Podcast will be discussing the Season 1 finale/Season 2 premiere on Wednesday, July 22 at talkshoe.com

We'd love to hear your take on things if you would like to stop by!! We are a spoiler-free show, so we promise not to ask any questions about Season 6 :)

Hey, totally off-topic, my kids and I saw your Hawaii library commercial over the weekend. It was very cool of you to do that. My daughter is your biggest fan!

Love the cucumbers! I wish our backyard was bigger than a postage stamp so we could plant something, too....Your side of the island is probably better for planting, though - more rain...

Jorge,

Not that I have a prurient mind or anything like that, but doesn't that sort of look like a sex toy. Not that I would know anything about that! Just my two cents!

I'm a little worried about James...

I just learned last year that this happens when the flower isn't evenly pollenated. Crazy huh? So if you want perfect cukes you much get out there with your little paintbrush and start pollenating...yeah right. :-)

I read about the longest cucumber and thought of you. I've been enjoying your site for a while now, but this is my first comment. Your observations and easy humor make for great reads, independent of the fact that you are someone I see on my television.

In 1981, ed hardy and his wife formed Hardy Marks Publications. In 2004, Christian Bale licensed the rights to produce the high-end Ed Hardy UK line, which is based on Hardy's imagery. Prior to the ed hardy clothing line, Bale was the Head Designer at Von Dutch Originals, which marketed the imagery of Kenny Howard. Don ed hardy, commented, As demand for my artwork continues to skyrocket, I felt it was ed hardy clothing time to take on a partner that could help me manage the demand and opportunities for the ed hardy T-shirts name. Iconix is at the forefront of brand management and clearly has the capabilities to dramatically grow the Ed Hardy UK business. I'm thrilled to have them as a partner.
