Okay I know I've been out of the loop for over a year, but have you all seen this?

So my question is: How come we've never see THAT on Locked Up Abroad?

This just goes to show that Michael Jackson really can save the world, touching hearts with his magic rhinestone glove, one person at a time!

this is so creepy. Zombies are bad enough, but Filipino Zombie inmates? Yipe!

My personal fave is "Gloria."

There is no problem in the world that a Jackson Dance Triangle cannot solve.

You really are out of the loop...LOL.

I saw that one like 5months ago, Its really awsome ;)

Btw, that prison uses dance as a form of human rehabilitation. It's pretty amazing. You should check out the rest of that guy's videos.

I love that video. How did they pick who was gonna play Ola Ray?

Tasha Who? said...

If you think that one is awesome... you should see the Lego/Play-Dough version... or better yet, the guy who layed a 32-track version of the song with his voice.

Stay away from the wedding version... not as entertaining as these three.

lol my husband showed me that a while back. I think we should make our prisoners do the same thing!! the humliation of playing the girls role might keep a lot of them out of jail.

Two responses I can't decide between...so take you pick...

1. ...your tax dollars at work...

2. "Okay, not bad, but the rapists just aren't scary enough..."

I'm out of the loop also, never seen it until now. That was awesome and a little disturbing at the same time. They did a great job, kudos to the one dressed as the girl.

I totally thought that was a girl until he turned around...

Jorge,

If you were a regular at Costco this wouldn't matter to you. It really is all about Costco. I believe Costco is in Iliwei.

Or if you're feeling up to it, get someone at Pearl to get you into the PX and then you'll really be set.

Forgive me, but is the "the" Jorge Garcia--"Hurley" on "Lost"? You commented on my blog post about "Lost" trivia. If it is, wow, thank you for commenting! I LOVE you on the show. You're one of my favorite characters, and to me, you area absolutely, foundationally essential to the show. Blessings--Cindy.

Oh yeah, this has been out for a while, as far as the being out of the loop...I'm in a glass house...:)

When I look at this vid, I'm still in disbelief.

Part of living on the intertubes mean s I saw that ages ago but it's still hilarious.

They couldn't possibly get that many American inmates to cooperate.

I remember listening to a newscast where the journalist was discussing these philipino prison-dance videos with a different perspective:

the warden allegedly coerced the inmates to dance without food for hours and reluctant participants were rumored to be punished with beatings and starvation. the overiding impression i got was that the warden was far less preoccupied with justice and reform, than he was bending the inmates to his will and making a name for himself on the internet..

thought you might be interested in flip side.. sorry to be a downer.

-i love your work btw-
-nice interview with the odi guys as well-

Yeah, when I first saw that video I had high hopes that Michael Jackson had been relegated to a far off prison. Like his music had gone to trial and the judge said "I sentnece all your music to 100 years in a Filipino prison with no possibility of parole" *BANG* And Michael Jackson's music is sobbing and hugging it's family and then we never hear it AGAIN

I heard their next production is the fight scene between the Jets and the Sharks from West Side Story.

Jorge,

I feel sure that some US corrections official is looking at getting music videos to film on prison sites. Can you say "Thriller with a killer."

As an aficionado of random displays of choreography ever since Fatboy Slim's "Praise You" video, I enjoyed this clip.

I agree that it is funny at first sight...but is there a possibility that this story is true?

go to this website and watch thriller. I thought it was funny until I saw this viewpoint. I don't know if it is completely true, but it is disturbing.

I don't know what was more interesting to me. The "girl" with the really horrible receding hairline/ponytail combo. Or trying to convince myself that these were all petty shoplifters!

very entertaining though!

Momof4 said...

I had seen that one before, but I hadn't seen all the other ones done by Filipino prisoners off of that link. "Jump (for my love)" and "Do the Hustle" were particularly entertaining.

I think 3 people left comments on YouTube praising Jorge Garcias for bringing them to that site! I know that's why I was there! That's great!!!

RJMann said...

This is probably a bit biased... but it's an interesting read into why the prison does this... go to the link.
