Costa Rican Wildlife Explorer: Collared Peccary

Alright here are a couple other wild animals you can't see.
The big one is that gray thing smack dab in the middle of what would be the upper right quadrant.
There's a smaller one there too.
It's harder to spot, but if you start in the middle and work your way to the left.
Halfway to the edge you see this.

Well believe it or not it's one of these.

Jorge, you're funny with your "photos of animals we can't see"! We have a kind of peccary in Arizona called a javelina. I enjoy reading your blog!

I dunno...do they have giant gophers there? I knows my giant gophers (what?) and I'd bet money that that's what they are.

Hey Jorge, Came for the Costa Rica, stayed for the Lost. We went to Costa Rica last year, visited a "zoo" and got to pet a peccary. My daughter now believes all peccaries are friendly, hairy pigs.

Great blog. Good luck with the slug-less herbs.

In your case... a photo doesn't say it all. Sorry! :o)
But I really like the guessing/educational post you have going on here. It's another Animals of the World by Jorge.

I feel like I'm looking at pictures of "Big Foot." Ya know, how they say there is something there, and when they enlarge and zoom in, all you can see is blurry pixelated something or other? Yeah, just like that.

Furry blobs are always so adorable. You just want to pinch there cheeks...well if you could see their cheeks.

Oh, that's a good one. This kind of pig, in Catalonia it's called PORC SENGLAR.
One of the bad guys from TMNT was one of them, remember?

I'm so glad you picked up that guide, Jorge. It's been very helpful!

The peccary appears to have very dainty feet.

We have those in Texas, but we call them Javelinas. I guess they're not really friendly, I heard they will eat small dogs left unattended. :(

Is that one of Locke's boars? ;)

The peccary was a character in a book I read my kids last year. The name is so strange and memorable!

Jorge,

They look like rodents for sure. Good job just being able to get a photo of them.
