Snuggie 2.0 = Slanket

When I was visiting my sister this Christmas I checked out her Slanket. It's basically in the same family as the Snuggie but like softer.

And everything I thought would improve the Snuggie back when I tried it previously on this blog actually exists on the Slanket and then some. THEY HAVE THE FOOT POCKET! Slanket totally trumps Snuggie folks. They even have a front pocket so you never have to give up control of the remote.

So if your looking to get a blanket with sleeves there is one way to go.

Unless you're so adventurous to get the siamese one.
Yikes.

  1. I got a Snuggie for Christmas. I know what you mean about the feet pocket - I tuck the end under my feet, but it requires some effort. My husband got me pink, so the kids would leave it alone and they steal it anyway. They all love it. I might let them have it, since I saw a new edition at the store yesterday with a pocket for the remote. I guess they are trying to keep up with the Slanket.

  2. Looking back at your old post with Nunu in the Snuggie reminded me of something. Did you know they made Snuggies for dogs now?

  3. OMG. The siamese slanket is hilarious! I've heard that the slanket is better in quality than the snuggie, but I like my snuggie. I can see where a foot pocket would come in handy, though. Cold feet are not fun.

  4. So practical and funny. Good luck baby. Love u

  5. Slanket... OK (stupid name though). Siamese Slanket? No thanks.

  6. OMG. I still maintain that everyone should just put their robes on backwards. However, thank you for the laugh. I LOVE the dudes in the office. They look like some sort of mutated, two person camel costume gone wrong. I cackled out loud.

  7. umm unless I'm missing something, slankets don't have foot pockets or front pockets? maybe my slanket is the old prototype (it's 4 years old) but I don't have any pockets! I do love my slanket though!

  8. I admit that when I first saw the Snuggie commercial (and I think we can all agree that the commercial really doesn't do the Snuggie justice, especially with that woman flailing around under the smaller blankie) I was skeptical and I mocked the whole idea. BUT, I found a Snuggie-type fleece thing on a really good sale, and I LOVE it! I take back everything I said about them and I am a big fan.
(I'm pretty jealous about that foot pocket...)

  9. That is awesome. I was actually disappointed to have not received a Snuggie for Christmas. Now I know why. I was just waiting for this. LOL

  10. Slankets sound great but Snuggie has sort of cornered the market. It's like the old Betamax tapes. theyw ere supposed to be better than VHS, but VHS won out. All the stores around here seem to sell snuggies but I have never seen a slanket in person.

  11. Aww, the Siamese Slanket even allows you to poop in unison. A true test of love.

  12. Hi Jorge! Are you actually on Facebook? I remember several months ago, you said you were NOT on Facebook. However, I just asked you to be my friend on Facebook, and whoever it is, is sure doing a good imitation of you.

You were kind enough to comment on my blog a while back, making me even more of a fan of you...but I was already a big fan. Hurley is an ESSENTIAL part of Lost. It simply wouldn't be the show it is, without Hurley...and you, as an actor, make Hurley wonderful. Blessings!

  13. Well, you know what...I just took a closer look at that Facebook page, and I'm thinking it's not really you. I think you have a little better command of the English language than this: "I like comunicate with all kind of people. That´s way I like so much internet.
It makes me feel so young..."

  14. I think you better check the patent on this "Slanket" and see if it was after your original post. You might be owed some $$. :)

  15. i have a snuggie..was given to me as a gift..i had made fun of it since they came out, but my friends didn't know it..so tada!...i hate it..it's about 8 sizes too big and 4 feet too long.and it's a zebra pattern...just what a fat old lady needs is a gigantic zebra throw tossed on her...
Im in mourning..my cowboys lost to the vikings...fecking farve.

  18. Yes Cindy Swanson whoever that guy is, it's not me. And the internet doesn't make me feel young. It makes me feel old.

  19. I just checked Amazon Germany and yes they have the Snuggie, but it´s way too expensive. 50 Euros for a blanket?! I mean come on... They try to make some money with American Imports over here, i´m telling you.
I bet the same product doesn´t cost more than 30 bucks in the States?!

  20. I must be jaded by all this slanket stuff bc my first thought was 'Aren't they going to fry their computers with static electricity rolling around with 8 yards of fleece?' Or I'm just a huge nerd.

  21. Thanks for clearing that up, Jorge! I posted what you told me on that guy's wall. It actually didn't take long to realize that it couldn't be you...unless for some bizarre reason, you were pretending not to speak English very well. Also, you're a terrific writer with a great sense of humor. He's not. :)

  22. The Slanket seems like an improvement. But I gotta say, the Snuggie is insane. It is a backwards robe. If you own a robe, you own a snuggie. I have no idea why people went nuts for this thing.

  23. I love my Slanket, I've had it for YEARS! I am so glad other people see how awesome it is, especially other people as awesome as you :)

  27. I got a Slanket this fall, and I love it, too! The foot pocket is awesome, as is the front pocket. Yes, it's completely ridiculous, but I don't care as long as I'm warm and comfy!

  29. AWWWWW Man!!!!!!!!!!

I was so pumped that Jorge Garcia was my friend! Thought you were on facebook Dude. Thanks for setting us straight. I would like to set a polar bear on the impersonator.

I love your blog. Especially about your adventures in the snow, I think of you every time I have scrape off my windows.

By the way, there is a cool contest going on right now for a book with a whole chapter on Hurley with a painting of you. If you get a chance, check it out. http://bit.ly/7nVbKF

  30. The Slanket actually came first, and Snuggie "copied" them! So what would you think about a DHARMA Slanket. I guess they really wouldn't have needed them on the Island except in the Vault/Wheel chamber...

  31. My Chi has a pet-snuggie and it's so cute- he manages to wear it for hours before he slips out of it. I recommend it highly.

  32. Jorge,

Madison Avenue is at work. Next will be the adjoining toilets for couples.

  33. By the way, after getting called out by me and another guy, the guy pretending to be you changed the page from "Jorge Garcia" to "Fan Jorge Garcia," saying it is a fan page. :)

  34. Can you point to where they sell the slanket with a foot pocket?? Their website doesn't say it has a foot pocket OR the front pocket?!!?
I feel all sorts of ripped off!

  35. Thank for for the Slanket praise. I received a Slanket for Christmas this year and it's amazing. It's like being hugged in the front by the softest teddy bear in the world. And then have a kangaroo pouch for your feet. And some front pockets too! Take that, boring, rough Snuggie fleece!

Slanket also advertises itself as the original blanket with sleeves. Battle!
