I'm DIG-gin' Atlantis

There is an exhibit at Atlantis called The Dig.
It gives you a better look at their huge fish tank as well as cool "artifacts" of lost Atlantis.

Part of it is this strange steamy room that as a bunch of old looking scuba equipment. It also opens up to the gift shop.

I think it's supposed to look like the men who were here may have been devoured by the piranha. Or eels.

  2. I've never had any interest in staying at fancy resorts, but now you've piqued my curiosity a little. Not that I'll ever be able to afford a place like that ;-P

  4. If you had bought more at the gift shop, perhaps men wouldn't have been devoured in the display. So... just saying...... ??
    consumerism, man.. It's the answer.

ps you made this resort look way more fun than I ever thought it would be. they owe you royalties.

  5. Have you ever watched the "Piranha" movie? Rottentomatoes gives it a 64% and this is the tag line: "Operation Razorteeth," a government project involving the breeding of mutant piranhas, gets way out of hand when the fish raid a lake at a summer camp for kids...

How can you say no to that?

  10. Just think, at one point it was all thought to be myth. Today we can peruse the anti-gravity guns and telepathic helmets of Atlantean invention.

It is officially the age of science fiction made science fact.

  13. I love that a fictional place can have artifacts. It's like how the entire tourist industry of Prince Edward Island is based on Anne of Green Gables. You can go Cavendish, PEI and pay to see the house "Green Gables", filled with furniture Anne would have used when she lived there, right down to the cracked slate she smashed over Gilbert's head (except it's fictional).

  17. After we went to Hawaii, the Bahamas lost all appeal, except that it doesn't take 10 hours to get there from the East Coast. Was it a let-down for you?

In my best southern accent "them there piranhas is good eating." Think about that one for a while.

  20. I was thinking of looking up some of them newspaper websites, but am glad I came here instead. Although glad is not quite the right word… let me just say I needed this after the incessant chatter in the media, and am grateful to you for articulating something many of us are feeling - even from distant shores. Please come visit my site Connecticut when you got time.
