Thank You SciFi Rewind

I finally got to watch my BSG finale. And my DVR cut off early. Luckily I could go to the website and get the closure I needed..

  1. Are you ready to share opinions yet? Or are you still digesting..

  3. The BSG finale made Lost my new favourite TV show, although if Charley turns out to be an angel to Hurley's Baltar, I will be very upset. As a sci-fi nut, I wasn't too happy with BSG ditching the science part.

Plus, they live happily ever after? I'll give Ron Moore credit for coming up with a surprising ending. It was like the original (well, theatrical) ending to Blade Runner. Still a great story, but WTF - where did the blue sky come from?

Anyway, I really enjoy your blog Jorge. First time commenter and all that. I assume everyone who posts here does the whole "I love Hurley routine", but I'll leave that as a given.

  4. Oh man was I disappointed with the finale of BSG...

I loved that show and they ended it with some hackneyed old adam and eve, cyclical timeline ending...

    Such a cop out!

  5. I think I ' ll buy all seasons of BSG, just because you like it. it should be good. Is it? Talking about the pancake making thing, shouldn't you just try to push the top lightly so that the stuff in it doesn't come out with lots of air? just a thought. Regards from Mexico City.

  8. I'm curious to know your feelings on the BSG finale. I thought it was appropriate. My DBf on the other hand is STILL ridiculously upset about he. His exact words were "I don't understand how these writers can be so brilliant and write a wonderful show for four seasons, and not know how to end it."

  9. "cyclical timeline ending"

For the entire series they've been saying "This has all happened before and it will all happen again." What did you expect?

Other than the evolutionary bias, it's one of the best TV show endings I've ever seen.

And it's not like they lived happily ever after, Sacha. They had to live with their loss, many of them choosing to live out their lives alone.

Elizabeth, actually, it had to have been the DVR because SciFi had it listed at 2h 11m, so the DVR should have recorded that long.

  11. I'm also a fan of SciFi Rewind to get my episodes of GhostHunters. :) We had to scale back on cable, so I am thankful for the website!

  12. Mine stopped recording one minute from the end of one of the Lost episodes and I thought my son was going to have a heart attack. LOL Lucky we have the internet.

  14. I once taped a two and half hour movie on my dvr, only to sit down to watch and get to the end and realize the last 5 minutes hadn't been recorded! I was soooo steamed! It wasn't available online, or available to rent. Luckily, it was aired again a few weeks later so I could find out how the movie ended. Dude, I was soooo steamed (laughing)!

  15. You are a BSG fan?

Man, I always knew I liked you. Now I love you. In a non-creepy, non-stalkerish kind of way, of course.

  16. This happens in Hawaii all the time! The shows start early sometimes and end late a LOT! I learned my lesson and for important shows like Lost I change the end time manually so I won't be tempted to hurl the DVR thru the flatscreen!

  17. HEY Jorge, did you see the pictures of your double in Buenos Aires, Argentina?

    Good for you.

  19. This made me laugh...After every LOST episode, a number of people come onto our board at IMDb in a panic because their DVR cut out early! On "off" nights we joke about the inevitability of such posts, and it just struck me as funny to see you saying the same thing about BSG!

  20. Bubba, what's an 'evolutionary bias'? Adherence to fact?

I wasn't too keen on the God thing myself, but loved the bit with Adama and Roslin. It was sweet, and sad. Plus, Hera looks like my best friend's little girl.

  21. I'd be curious to hear what you thought of it, too. I am bugged by what I think I heard in the bit at the end, where they were reading the magazine article and I swear 6 said they found the bones of a child who is believed to be mitochondrial Eve. Does that mean Hera died as a child? How sad (and how could she have reproduced?) Or did I mis-hear and have been sad for nothing?

  22. I loved BSG to the bitter end. Glad you got your closure. Am sure your gf was happy, too (Saw her dear BSG, please give me back my bf note on her blog- lmao)! Do you think the new "Caprica" series will be any good? I love your blog!

  23. Funny, a pal and I are swapping seasons. He's been letting me borrow his BSG and I've been loaning him seasons 1-4 of LOST! He's all caught up and I'm almost through 2.5, and can't get enough, almost as addictive as LOST. Do I have to wait for DVD to see 4.5?

  24. What did you think of it?? And why couldn't Adama hang out with his son again instead of sitting on a rock pile by himself for all eternity??
