  3. It's just amazing: No matter in which situation you are filmed or photographed: You always look friendly, content, sympathetic, and good-natured. There are so many frowning faces out there and it lifts my heart just to look at good-humoured Jorge. Thanks for sharing this with us :)

  4. You know...it actually looks rather dashing.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  10. OUCH I had that done once & woke up the next day crying with a headache! I'm such a tender-headed goob!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ok, this is nice! :))
That hair is Hugo's hair, right? Same hair of Courtney Cox as Monica in a Friends episode... LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  16. LOL - my daughter just did this in Aruba. It's not easy to sit there for that long...and MY GOD they practically pull your hair out in the process. But she's loving the look.

Looks good on you, too :) Totally want the backstory.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Dude, you are channeling the ghost of Mr. Echo.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Can't wait to hear this. lol
    Doesn't look bad thou.

    Is that Beth styling it?

    ReplyDelete
  19. ¡qué guapo Jorge, yo tb quiero!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Ya mon! Can't wait to hear! :)

    ReplyDelete
  21. Upcoming episode?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Dammit! They killed of Hurley, so Jorge's doing crazy stuff with his hair now! ...but just kidding... right?!

    ReplyDelete
  23. :O OY!

;) Decided to try something new with the hair eh? Not bad.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Whoa. Wonder if this is a spoiler. Very "Ekoish".

    ReplyDelete
  25. Normally I don't care for the Bo Derek just been to the Bahamas look, but it shows off your face well. Somehow it works for you. It also looks like it hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Wow! You're brave :) Jorge, could you please respond to my comment, just once? Pllleeeeaaasssseeee. Haha! Just so I can freak out and eat lots of icecream...Counting down the minutes til I get to see "What Kate Does."

    ReplyDelete
  27. Awesome !!! Totally love it :)

    explanation needed though....

    ReplyDelete
  28. That must have taken FOREVER with your crazy hair!! It looks good though. I could never pull that off!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Can anyone make out what song is playing in the background? Voice sounds kind of familiar, but I can't place it.

    ReplyDelete
  30. what? no beads? I've got jears in my eyes

    ReplyDelete
  31. Can't wait to hear the story with this one.

You should put up a poll so we can all vote on the reason behind this.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hi Jorge,
This isn't really a comment but a question. I sent some fan mail back in mid-December (it's super awesome--on Wonder Woman paper and I sent some pictures of my friend in Germany with your boar), and I was simply wondering if you received it? My email is laura.neser@yahoo.com, if you can't reply that's fine, I'm still a huge fan of your blog! And your new hair.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Just a guess, but did you have to have this done to get the wig on for your scenes on the plane 2004? Your hair looked a lot shorter for those scenes than it did on the island 2007.

    ReplyDelete
  34. hehe.. cant wait to hear the story on this one...

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Actually, it looks amazing !

    =)

    ReplyDelete
  36. gangsta rap cluckity clack, buy some chicken at da shack

    ReplyDelete
  37. Well... change ur hairstyle sometimes its ok! so why not : )

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm guessing for the ease of wig changing. long hair to short. Island hair to main land do. lol Looks good though either way.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Just dropping in to say I love your blog. I moved from Oahu (Nuuanu) this summer to GA, and miss it quite a bit. I've run into you guys filming a few times over the years.

Great season premiere, by the way!

Also...I like the hair. Much aloha to you.

    ReplyDelete
  40. @Miss Scarlett - *Totally* the same thought I had - sideways Hugo on a Cancun vacation!

    ReplyDelete
  41. My guess is it's to raise money for Haiti.

    ReplyDelete
  42. hey, andrew bird in the background.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I am sure there is a good story to come, but I just want to know - how long did it take? That girl's fingers can fly, but you gotta lotta hair!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. and how long does it take to get the braids undone?

    ReplyDelete
  45. That looks awesome, not gonna lie

    ReplyDelete
  46. I love how you just look over at the camera and laugh.

    ReplyDelete
  47. That actually looks kinda cool on you. Yeah, you got some 'splainin to do!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Bet that was fun with the texture of your hair.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I just watched a rerun of Scrubs where Dr. Kelso goes on a Bahamian vacation with Enid and his son. He says that Enid's wheelchair will rust in the ocean and his son will spend all of his time with the trannies getting his hair braided. Later, he comes back to the hospital with that same hair style you're sporting declaring, "Damned trannies got me when I was asleep!" Did they get you, too, Jorge? Hehehe... It looks like it'd be cooler to wear than your usual do. Whatever makes you comfy, I say!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yo Mon Jorge,

You be feelin them island breezes mon! WAnti wanti can't get it, getti getti no want it!

P.S. I think that last Jamaican phrase means those who want (like the follically challenged) can't get it.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I am very worried about you.. every tiem I see you get more and more worried....please take care...

    ReplyDelete
  52. Hi there
I came upon this great photo of you and your lady on the red carpet. Hope you like it too.
    http://tv.yahoo.com/slideshow/527/photos/
Just click through the photos to

Please tell us the story on the corn rows.

    yours.
    Pen2

    ReplyDelete
  53. That's pretty pimp, if I do say so m'self.

    ReplyDelete
  54. My guess is that, in a future episode of Lost, you let Libby do this to your hair.

    ReplyDelete
  55. DUDE! Is this for a LOST episode? If so, I can hardly wait. heh heh heh :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. I have never been the biggest fan of cornrows, but those look decent. And in the back of my mine, I am praying that they were finished off with beads and foil at the ends.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Here is your official reminder: please explain this. You do that look well, by the way.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I'm going to guess that you had to wear some sort of wig or mask and that made it easier to deal with.

...or you just wanted to try it out. :)

    ReplyDelete
  59. Dude for some reason it kinda works for you!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I did that YEARS ago when I was in the Bahamas :) I'm still waiting for an explanation man!!! Looks groovy....

    ReplyDelete
  61. Hey Jorge. I demand to know the secrets of.. your hair. =]

    ReplyDelete
  62. Cool, dude! And I know it hurt. I had it done once and couldn't stand the pain, took it out hours later.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I'm not convinced this is a good look for you man...but what do I know!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Yes, please do explain! In the words of Desi Arnez, Jorge, "...you got some 'splainin' to do!"

    ReplyDelete
  65. Jorge, you really got it dude. I wouldn't vote you off the island.

    ReplyDelete
  66. If this is for Lost? The show has officially jumped the shark. I can see it now, 5 years from now they will call it "Going Cornrow Hurley" instead "Jumping the Shark". :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. this post is a lost episode: show the result, explain later. you should remix your podcasts into the same sequence!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Nice Andrew Bird in the background man. Nice hair too. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  69. i couldnt figure out how to send you an email but you should check out this website:

    http://leebraineater.posterous.com/

    you're day #1

    ReplyDelete
  70. Discovered your blog 3 weeks ago while looking up Hurley’s real name and found Dispatches from the Island existed through Wikipedia. I have to say it’s delightful and educational to see a more personal side. The commentators are pretty funny too-(kgmoome). Your Gal Beth is quite the writer. Loved her short story The Neverending Root Canal . Should become required reading for all mankind. Actually I wonder how much is actually written by Beth on this blog- not that it really matters. Thank you both for giving us a reason to quack up.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Very great work!!!! It;s looks fantastick!!! Really!! They make it with so big speed!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Come on Jorge, tell us what the deal is with the hair. If it's for Lost give us the scoop. Don't worry about Cuse and Lindelof getting mad Emerson and Fox give out more scoops in a single interview than you have in 4 years. :) Besides it's the last season what are they gonna do fire you?

    ReplyDelete
  73. Don't foget to explain later, I cant wait to hear about it.

    When will then be now?????

    ReplyDelete
  74. You have got to explain yourself in this video. As you can see from all the posts, we are all assuming crazy things that might be happening on the island. Please remember to come back to this!!!

    ReplyDelete
  75. would you ever consider putting up some photos of you as a teenager???

    ReplyDelete
  76. the truth is I imagined he would not blog but I'm enjoying the blog, is definitely fun and I am Spanish but I must say that my basic English I understand what you write here, I hope you read my comment and answer it on my blog, kisses by the way I really enjoy your visit to the televison program ¨ the anthill "ciao

    ReplyDelete
  77. Yeah... So, I'm reminding you to explain this, cuz I am just dying with curiosity!! LOL!!
PS. I have done this before, but I was a couple decades younger than we are now. :D

    ReplyDelete
  78. OK, I'm reminding you Jorge! Explain, please!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Hurley goes gangsta in the next few episodes and decides HE wants to lead.....just like Miles suggested. It begins with capping Jack and Kate.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Jorge, just please answer us and tell us whether that hair-do is just for fun or if we'll be seeing you on LOST with it?

    ReplyDelete
  81. i think, the cut is gonna to be in the 6x12 "everybody loves hugo" with the appears of libby =)

    enter my blog! www.mywtfbrain.blogspot.com

    ReplyDelete
  82. Jorge, if the braids stay in for any length of time just bear in mind (and you may have already found this out by now) that when you take those out, it's going to feel like you are losing a freakish amount of hair. Remember that we shed hairs all the time, every day, and they are just going to sit in those braids until you take them out and shampoo.
I used to do braiding when I was a hairdresser and that's the number one thing I'd tell people so they didn't panic when they took them out...lol...

    ReplyDelete
  83. Oooooh great!!! Approved. Let us know the reason...
    Greetings from Brazil.
    Hugs Jorgeman!!!

    ReplyDelete
  84. gorgeous!

    reminding you to explain it...

    ReplyDelete
  85. I'm looking forward to finding out why you were getting corn rows, Jorge! Anyway you wear your hair is fine with me, though!
    Namaste!

    ReplyDelete
  86. You look awesome! I like the hairstyle!
