Alright here are a couple other wild animals you can't see.
The big one is that gray thing smack dab in the middle of what would be the upper right quadrant.
There's a smaller one there too.
It's harder to spot, but if you start in the middle and work your way to the left.
Halfway to the edge you see this.
Well believe it or not it's one of these.
strange looking creatures there. You were right though, it's like a zoo, but not :)
ReplyDeleteHey Jorge , Im new on your blog.
ReplyDeleteIm from Spain. And i read everydays your blog.
What a strange animal.
When i saw the first image i thought that was a black rabit.
Nice photo :)
Please to meet you.
Javi.
I believe you!
ReplyDeleteBTW, thank you for the comment on IKBINT. As predicted, my husband was completely floored and thrilled, and now feels very important!
you sir...need a zoom lens.
ReplyDeletegreat blog regardless.
thank you,
-matt
Jorge, you're funny with your "photos of animals we can't see"! We have a kind of peccary in Arizona called a javelina. I enjoy reading your blog!
ReplyDeleteI dunno...do they have giant gophers there? I knows my giant gophers (what?) and I'd bet money that that's what they are.

Hey Jorge, Came for the Costa Rica, stayed for the Lost. We went to Costa Rica last year, visited a "zoo" and got to pet a peccary. My daughter now believes all peccaries are friendly, hairy pigs.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog. Good luck with the slug-less herbs.
In your case... a photo doesn't say it all. Sorry! :o)
ReplyDeleteBut I really like the guessing/educational post you have going on here. It's another Animals of the World by Jorge.
I feel like I'm looking at pictures of "Big Foot." Ya know, how they say there is something there, and when they enlarge and zoom in, all you can see is blurry pixelated something or other? Yeah, just like that.
ReplyDeleteFurry blobs are always so adorable. You just want to pinch there cheeks...well if you could see their cheeks.
ReplyDeleteOh, that's a good one. This kind of pig, in Catalonia it's called PORC SENGLAR.
ReplyDeleteOne of the bad guys from TMNT was one of them, remember?
I'm so glad you picked up that guide, Jorge. It's been very helpful!
ReplyDeleteThe peccary appears to have very dainty feet.
We have those in Texas, but we call them Javelinas. I guess they're not really friendly, I heard they will eat small dogs left unattended. :(
ReplyDeleteIs that one of Locke's boars? ;)
ReplyDeleteThe peccary was a character in a book I read my kids last year. The name is so strange and memorable!
Crikey!
ReplyDeletekinda reminds me of the boar from your show Lost...hehe..
ReplyDeleteJorge,
ReplyDeleteThey look like rodents for sure. Good job just being able to get a photo of them.
while your imparting costa rican animal facts did you know that armadillos females have one egg that splits into 4 babies either 4 girls or 4 boys..always...
ReplyDeletecool huh?....aloha
This gopher is very similar to dwarf boar!!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that what sawyer chased through the jungle???
