One of the best posts about the show I've read.

Good luck with everything you do in the future.

Incredible. Congratulations on all of your success and thank you for such a wonderful experience. Just being along for the "ride' was amazing in itself.

Just read your article, Jorge...loved it. I just wanted you to know that I wrote a little tribute to you on my own blog today (also linked to your Variety article), and talked about the time you made me so happy by commenting on my blog. I hope you'll check it out when you can:

I will miss you as Hurley soooooo much, but I wish you "Vaya Con Dios" and best wishes in your future career!

Jorge, your goodbye really moved me. And I'm really sad about the end of the show... I'll be lost without Lost!! (there is a group on facebook named like that and I'm in!!)
Guys, you're all great and I'll miss you! :)

I am just not ready for it to be over, and that piece just made it a little more sad for me.

I am so going to miss the show and Hurley!! I really hope you keep this blog up because I love your personality and sense of humor! Congrats on a great show and I look forward to seeing you in future endeavors. I'll be watching Sunday with excitement and will be sad when it is all over.

It was an awesome article, and made me get a little teary. Can't wait to see what you do next :)

Great piece. I don't think I can put into words the amount of enjoyment I got from the show over the last 6 years. The show itself was great, but all the next day water cooler speculation with co-workers, friends, and family was something I've never experienced with any other show.

It makes the experience that much better to know that you guys had fun making it. I think that actually came through in the finished product.

Thanks for 6 years of entertainment beyond what I could have ever expected from a TV program. I'm not sure if it's possible for any other show in my lifetime to live up to the enjoyment I've gotten out of Lost.

Well done Jorge.

It was awesome meeting you last night man,it made my night and I feel a bit more complete as the season Finale is coming up. It's been an epic Run man,it's hard for me to see it end and can only imagine what it's like for you. I wish you the best of luck on all your future projects.

That was a really nice piece and well written!

Wow,Jorge. Nicely written and expressed. What a wonderful experience it must have been.

I'm looking forward to the finale...I'm cooking a big meal with lots of snacks for an entire--what, six hours?--of LOSTapalooza. It'll be a miracle if I manage to hoist my butt off the sofa when it's all over. I'll either be too laden with massive quantities of food, or I'll be a blubbering mess.

Either way, I can't wait.

I'm not ready to say goodbye. Great piece you wrote; and I loved the comparison to the tinkers in A Midsummer Night's Dream. You've played hands-down my favorite character since the start and I'm sad to see Hurley go... along with the whole show in general. LOST is by far my favorite television show and I have no idea what to do once it's off the air. It's become such a big part of my life... Thank you for putting on such an amazing show and being part of my life for 6 years. :)

What a lovely article. As always when you write, it is very genuine. I am eagerly awaiting Sunday night, but will also feel sad when it is over. Congratulations on the show and good luck in your future.

I don't know what I am going to do with myself on Monday morning. I know I will spend half the night awake and blogging about the show, chatting with all the friends I have made across the world who share an interest in LOST. Finally I will be checking back with your blog, hopping that you will continue to maintain this blog so we your fans will know where to find you preforming next. Please stick around. Your one of my favorite reads.

Gosh, I got all teary-eyed just reading it.

I've been so sad these past few episodes...I can't believe it's been 6 years and it's over.

Really great article, Jorge. It was wonderful to see you on Times Talks. I'll miss your smiling face on my TV - here's to a new job soon!

Great piece! I have watched LOST since the very beginning. In fact, I was hooked the first time I saw the teaser commercial for the pilot episode. Thank you for being a part of a brilliant show, it is one that will always be one of my favorites.

I think I will have to start watching the series again on DVD as a LOST Marathon to avoid the withdrawal symptoms for a while.

emmasholi said...

Such a beautiful read! It made me all teary reading it. :(

Anonymous said...

Jorge, you could act in anything now that LOST is over. You've proven you've got the chops. Now instead of the character of Hurley picking you, it's your turn to choose your next role. Thanks for the last six years!

GuinGuin said...

Beautifully written, straight from the heart : )

Dani said...

Awesome article. We are going to miss you. Will you keep blogging? Even if you aren't on TV, I enjoy your writing and would love to continue to have peeks into your life. :) There will never be anything like Lost on TV again, and you were a part of that. Groundbreaking. Thanks for giving all of us such an amazing experience.

Unknown said...

Jorge - you da man. Here's hoping that you can stay forever lost, then move on to the next great thing.

Whatever that is you'll be fine. A soul likes your will not burn out in darkest of nights.

I will lift up mine eyes to the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord.

What a great piece, you have a wonderful way with words, as we know from this blog also.

Thanks for sharing all your experiences in life and Lost with your fans. And thanks to Beth also. It was a lot of fun watching you on TV and reading about your consumer tests, parties, and world-treking adventures.

Hope that you keep in touch, whatever or where ever your next job may be. xo

I'm sure we're going to see you all in future projects. I have no doubt about that. But what I'll miss is the all-of-you-together. You guys have such great chemistry -- at least that's how it comes across on the screen. Maybe that's how it really is, and maybe it's just great acting, and maybe it's a little of both. But I'll miss you all, even as I delight in seeing each of you come the future.

Jorge--Thank you again for sharing your charmed life with us. My husband and I wish you the best in whatever adventure comes your way next. And whoever they are, they'd be idiots not to hire you.

Great article. Very bittersweet, which is how we fans feel about the end of the show as well.

But what a spectacular entertainment you have all given us! Simply brilliant, all of you.

And, I have to say, I'm no actor, but I do play a mean game of Scrabble. And I'm decent at crosswords. (Though the Friday NYT is a toughie!)

What a great piece! Thanks for sharing in such a down-to-earth way what the show has meant to you. It only reaffirms how much I'm going to miss the show and the amazing cast. My son and I flew to CA together to attend the LOST Final Celebration and it was such an unbelievable experience. It not only bonded us together as LOST geeks, but also as mother and son. PLUS we got to meet and have our photo taken with you-definite highlight of the night! Thank you, Jorge, for being such an awesome human being.

Thank you Jorge and Beth for all you've done for the fans. I will always have a soft spot for Lost because it gave me something to look forward to when I was in a bad place in my life. Best of luck to you in the future!

I read it already, Jorge. It was absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing it with us, your fans. BTW, I have a really hilarious picture of Matthew Fox carrying you "piggy-back style" down what appears to be a dock. It is so precious I had to keep it in my photos files. It's so great that you made so many fantastic friends, such as Matthew, and I hope you are all able to keep in touch with each other. Sorry it's over. We fans are heartbroken as well. Thanks for the memories.

Can't wait to see the show Sunday. I know it's gotta be emotional to end a show like that! I've only done community theater and it's always sad on the last performance night I can't imagine working with people for 6 years on such an awesome project and then having to end it. Can't wait to see what you do next!

Kathy P said...

Jorge, that was a beautiful article. I'm going to miss Hurley SO much - by far my favorite character for the entire run. Thank you for all you gave him, and by extension, to the rest of us. I cannot WAIT to see where you go from here! :)

Oh Jorge...I hope your next six years are as great as the past six...you can act, do comedy, write, cook and I even saw you sing. I believe you can and will excel at whatever life brings to you in the future! It seems everyone knows who you are and loves you. Your article made me extra sad about the end of Lost, but I have never been one who embraces change :) I hope you take a well deserved rest and know that whatever comes next, you have a lot of people loving you, cheering you on and wishing you all the best!!! Now...sniff...I am going to hug my Hurley doll and try to stop thinking about Sunday. THANK YOU so much for Hugo Reyes and for this blog, and for allowing us a glimpse into your world.

Unknown said...

Nicely done. I'm both longing for and dreading the finale, dude. Thanks for being willing to go out of your comfort zone. It's been pretty much the best TV since Twin Peaks, and soon I'll get to go back to being a total TV snob.

I now know how I want Lost to end: Hurley wakes up and finds that he is in bed with Bob Newhart and Suzanne Pleshette.

I'm going to miss seeing you all each week, and will look eagerly to your next gig.

And I sincerely hope that you keep up the blog, even if you have to rename it to fit whatever local finds you next.

You have an authentic voice, and hundreds of fans who love you.

The piece you wrote for variety is INCREDIBLE ! and mind blowing !! Its hard to believe that after 6 seasons its all coming to an end ! But guess what every start has an end otherwise the the start looses its beauty.

Jorge, I loved your article. You are by far my favorite cast member and character on the show... so much so, I named my dog Hugo.

I am sad to see the show end, but for me, the saddest thing to see is that you have changed your mailing address for your fan mail. There's a finality of that, that I was not prepared for.

I'm anxiously awaiting your next project. In the meantime I'll still read all your Dispatches, even if they're no longer from the island.

Dude. Loved watching you on LOST. Seriously it is the only show I religiously have watched from beginning to end. We even watched via skype when we were unable to get TV reception while out of the country this winter. Getting together with family and friends to watch tomorrow.

Can't wait to see you in your next project. Hope it brings you another great adventure...and that you continue to blog along the way.

My mum was a rabid sci-fi nut, comix books, video games, films. .whatever. She was excited to see L O S T when it premiered but actually died on 22nd of September 2004 (she was 86).
I am not making a joke about this. In reality I have watched the whole six seasons as a homage to her, and I know she would have loved the puzzling complexity, mysteries and awesome mix of characters, just as I have come to love them too.

I love that you have a blog! It makes you seem more "real" LOL. You are an amazing actor. Thank you for sharing your life/experience with us and for Beth being kind enough to share you with us. I am a major fan of Lost, which is the first show I've invested "time" into. I had never been on a forum, blog,or posted anything before Lost. I consider it entertainment and educational as I have read the books mentioned, researched every character and clue, and I even wrote a summary for every single episode. I posted them on the greatest Lost site..http://losttv.freeforums.org
I have 4 huge notebooks of summaries, notes, and theories. I say this because I never thought anything could capture my attention this way. Thank you for such a great experience.
You are an amazing actor as well as a person. Thank you for Hurley. :) I wish you all the best and hope to see you soon. Anything in the works you can tell us about?
Hope you continue to blog..your fans love it.
