Almost Made It

Damn. This cup survived the trip from New York to San Francisco to Honolulu. And then as I'm looking for something in my suitcase I set a bag down too hard and I heard the ominous "clink."

That's the way it works, though. Murphy's Law.

Be sure to leave it broken for the time being and fix it in LA. That way it doesn't have to be double glued.

Amanda said...

Don't despair! Superglue is your friend!

Kathi said...

superglue....it works well on mug handles :)

Lynn Faruque said...

Ouch!! You could always use super glue, but that is probably not the same, huh?

Selfishly, hope Elmer makes it. See? How totally selfish is that?! lol

Besos, you guys.

Unknown said...

Gorilla Glue *might* put it back together.

Libbers said...

nothing a little duct tape won't fix. ;)

but really, I'd go with super-glue!

That's like when my husband broke my sunglasses on the first full day of our honeymoon.. even though they'd been living in my purse for over a year before, getting tossed all around and jostled amongst all the junk I keep in there.. he just barely touched them with his foot before he realized they were there, but the arm was snapped right off..

Jim McKee said...

Super Glue (aka Crazy Glue) should fix it right up.

BTW, thanks so much for your work on Lost... Hurley was always my fave character (being a big guy myself).

Epoxy FTW!

el propósito de la copa era servir para esos viajes. ya cumplió con su destino

Jorge, you, of all people, should know the perils of setting a bag down too forcefully.

"Dude, you got some cup on you."

Nicole said...

super glue...stat!

Jonathan Wong said...

Oooooh... that sucks, man. :-(
Maybe you can get Jimmy to ship you a new one!

LP said...

No worries, that's what SuperGlue is for.

Tales of Whimsy said...

Boooooo! Too bad for super glue?

McKenzie said...

Bummer! I seem to have that kind of luck. Don't toss it, just buy some Krazy Glue. Looks like a clean break so no one should notice. :)

Tracey said...

Oh, bummer. But I'm pretty sure if you pulled some strings, (or spent $12.50 at the on-line gift shop) you could get another. I suppose it won't be the same, will it?

Serena said...

Or you could use the cup as a pencil holder!

Arcticroses said...

Awww, Crazy Glue will put it back together.

LAthoughts said...

I'm sure "Miles" would recommend duct tape.

Rodet said...

Jorge, I hope this means you'll keep blogging even though Lost is over? Thanks for the memories, man. You should make the cap'n cap and sweater look your thing, man.

Michelle said...

That's a shame, but maybe Jimmy will see this post and send ya another.

If not, there's always Super Glue (Gel)or Gorilla Glue.

I believe in Super Glue.

Aw, man, that sucks.

Have you seen Jimmy's LATE? It's a Lost parody. It's pretty brilliant.

I saw you on that show...I was flipping through the cable guide and saw your name so I turned it on, I didn't even know Fallon had a show. I turned the channel until Trump was gone...yuck...but it was quite entertaining with the nautical thing going on. I loved it when you walked out with the sweater and cap...yellow is your color :) maybe he'll send you another cup.

Deb said...

glue...the super kind!

Malea said...

I bet, if you asked pretty please, Jimmy would spot you another.

mrs.mao said...

Something tells me Jimmy Fallon will give you as many of those as you want. Hey, by the way, loved the skit you did with Matthew Fox and Emilie de Ravin on Jimmy Kimmel. I also loved the Survivor and Bob Newhart spoofs. Funny stuff. You should tell Damon and Carlton they should have a sitcom. They are so funny!

I'm sorry, man.

Sucks, Dude; I'm sorry.

You can get a new one from amazon for just $12: http://www.amazon.com/Late-Night-Jimmy-Fallon-Logo/dp/B0036F7YKK

I had a little mishap too...this weekend while baking, managed to accidentially smash the oven door to smithereens : /

Tiffany Noélli said...

A valuable tip! Many say it is unlucky to leave something broken at home. I believe! It is best to throw away. A good weekend for you! Kiss :)

]Jorge do not use something broken, bad luck.

At least it wasn't a Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien mug. That would be irreplaceable!

(I know, you were on Late Night with Conan and not The Tonight Show, but you gotta stick with me here for the sake of the joke)

Perfect excuse to come back to NY :)

Hello, I love the show lost, your character was the one of the best. You brought most of the humor to the show. Well done. I do have a questions though, if you don't mind. In the finally, where was the plane that Kate, Sawyer, Miles, Lepidus and Richard going?
It was great watching the show, thank you,

Lost Fan

Try super glue!!! X:-/ or keep it as a desk pencil holder X;-)

(Ps) i seem to be breaking off all our household glasses lately... i wonder if there is a message in that somewhere! (Lol! The WINE glasses that is!)

Oh and by-the-way Jorge...
Just in case i don't get the chance again...
It was an Honor Dude...
and don't Forget i'll be see-ing you in Another Life Brother X:-)

TRE said...

i'm sure jimmy would be willing to send you a new one.

Cyn said...

Superglue will work, but washing will weaken the bond. Instead, go with epoxy marked for use with ceramics!

Mix the epoxy together and apply a very thin layer, press together and wipe off excess. Let dry 24 hours.

Kathi said...

I'm guessing you'll end up receiving at least 20 of the mugs in the mail in a matter of weeks. That's how much your fans love you. :o)

Unknown said...

Reminds me of Ilana :)

Barry said...

Gee, things like that happen in your life too? Amazing.

And congratulations on wrapping up one of TV's proudest moments. LOST was magnificent.

Lance said...

At the very least, I hope it still holds beverages. In that case, there's nothing a little crazy glue (or gorilla glue) can't solve.

fA said...

You have to go back!!!

AbleApe said...

Put it up for auction! I'll buy it!

Mommycosm said...

Pretty sure they would send you another if you asked? You think?

I know. That's not the point.

Loster said...

I like the duct Tape idea

Jason said...

*tear*
Try some Crazy Glue or duct tape.

sophie said...

Don't you just hate when that happens? It seems you'll just have to go back for another appearance on Jimmy Fallon.

I have enjoyed your blog and your performances on Lost. I can't wait to see what's next for you. Break a leg.

Unknown said...

Haha to JustDevin... "Dude, you got some cup on you."

Guess this mug will now be a pencil holder... or some knick-knack, and not fer drinkin' coffee.

Hey man, you are the best! Thanks for this 6 years!! I hope you continue acting in other shows, you're cool man.

Jimmy seems like a really good guy. I bet he would send you a new one. I bet he would send you two so Beth could have one.

Moving always makes me so nervous. I hold my breath when I unpack anything fragile. One mug for a trip that far doesn't seem like such a bad loss in the grand scheme of things.

Anonymous said...

Sad but maybe it's time for a change? lol

Anonymous said...

Heh...sorry about the mug!

Mostly, just wanted to say that I'm glad you're still blogging and this wasn't just a promotional thing for Lost. I've grown quite fond of reading your updates! :)

Hola Jorge!!!
