Friends of mine are running the L.A. Marathon to raise money and awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project.
"Wounded Warrior Project Provides programs and services to severely injured service members during the time between active duty and transition to civilian life."
I can't run the the marathon with them because I'm still going to be here shooting LOST. (Darn!) But I did join their team in support.

You're shooting LOST? Never heard of it... Great cause though!
Thank you so much for posting this!
Thank you so much for sharing this link! This is a wonderful organization and very much needed.
Shawn - proud wife of a U.S. Army Reservist.
The Jimmy Buffet fan club I belong to just had a fund raiser for the Wounded Warriors. We raised almost $2800. It is a wonderful program.
I hate to post unrelated comments (and yes, I did follow the links), but this is too cool: http://community.livejournal.com/lost_tv/1834341.html#cutid1
Well, as I always say, Jorge, if you can't be an athlete, at least be an athletic supporter. It looks like a great cause!!! Thanks for the heads up.
Just donated in your name as an anonymous contributor. Hope you do as well (or better!) as Stephen Colbert did for the US Speedskating team... He raised over $300,000 for much needed training funds.
This cause seemed way more important.
Several of my daughter's friends have served in either and/or both Iraq and Afghanistan. I have seen first hand the injuries, both mental and physical, that have resulted from these conflicts. Do NOT want to comment on whether these wars are necessary, just want to keep the focus on the need for returning vets to have access to physical and mental health care.
Thank you for both supporting and publicizing the cause.
I've donated to them before..usually give money to all the vets groups..
hey Jorge...I think we'd all like to know what you'll be up to after Lost is over..we're interested..
Sounds like a great Fundraiser! How thankful we should be for our soldiers!
Jorge,
A great cause. I am donating this month to Amnesty International (my fav) but will donate in future to the Wounded Warrior Project.
I'm too poor to donate! Good cause though...
Jorge - as a huge fan, and reader of your blog, just wanted to say THANK YOU for this post. Both my husband and I are Air Force officers and we've both spent a good chunk of time in the Middle East on numerous deployments supporting both OIF and OEF...your support to veterans means so much, and there are so many who need the assistance. Thank you again.
Jorge, great cause. And just because your shooting lost is no "excuse" that you can't run a marathon. Here are some that might be more "local" to you:
Big Island International Marathon, Half Marathon & 3.1-Mile Run/Walk (3/21/10)
The Kauai Marathon & Half Marathon (9/5/10)
Just thought I'd help out.
this disabled vet thanks you.
Thank you for posting this. I am an Air Force Wounded Warrior and the cause is great!
It's great you're involved with this, Jorge. Yet another dimension to how cool you are. Keep it up, man! :)
Thank you for getting the word out. A lot of great Veterans benefit from the WWP.
Great Project, my daughter recently left Walter Reed and throughout the year she was a patient she received much love and comfort from the Wounded Warrior Project. It was a lovely thing to see all of the wonderful work done by this organization for all of the soldiers that were healing there. God Bless
