Then we went sledding.
It was bumpier than I thought it'd be.

It is so great to see you go sledding, build snow bears, thanks for keeping us to date on your wonderful life, I live in Missouri and it is the coldest winter on record, I am looking forward to blowing snows and minus 11 below zero temputere this week. right now it is minus 3 degrees.

I think I go make a Latte which just happens to be my verification word to send this to you.

Looks like you had fun! Did you enjoy the sledding? I miss those days. Living in Georgia prevents those days... ah well.

I'm so jealous Jorge. I miss that weather :(

It's really great to see videos of you experiencing new things and just in life in general. You don't get that with a lot of celebrities. You are by far my favorite character on LOST and you just seem so personable in real life. You're also hilarious and I enjoy your posts.

You and Beth are adorable!!

Hope you have a Happy New Year!

That wasn't snow sledding, that looked like ice sledding! And in sneakers no less!

You look so great bundled up like an Eskimo! Keep enjoying that snow, Jorge!

Winter sports are much more fun when it is not so bitterly cold out. I hear Colorado is warmer beause of the mountains, but I haven't been there so I cannot say for sure. Here in Indiana? A bit of snow and a whole lot of cold.

This is especially funny for me to watch. Re: I usually view your Hawaiian scenery with envy from snowy New Hampshire. Now I'm in Aruba enjoying the beach/sun while watching you in the snow.

Enjoy! It's fun to play in. Not so much to live through an entire winter.

So fun, keep the great videos coming Jorge. We love 'em.

I haven't done that in sooo long. And I live in Illinois. lol

Hey Jorge,

you have to use the hose of a truck tire. That means fun. And you don't feel the bumbs... ;)

Dude, you were really flying. Was that the same sled Clark used in "Christmas Vacation?" Nice work for your first time!

dude sledding is soo awesome!

Jorge, Beth... you guys need to get one of those blow-up sleds. They're just like the things people pull from the back of their boats, but they're for sledding. And they're WAY more comfortable than the traditional sled. And, they make them for 2 and three people, with handles for each rider! You can get them at Toys R Us or any sporting goods store. Enjoy the snow!

Yeah, it can be bumpy -- sledding in powder is nice, but then the sled kinda sinks a little and you don't go as far.

Sledding hills are fun but tiring, because (as you found out) you get the fun of flyin' down this hill, but then you hafta hike it back up with your sled in tow, and your boots sinking into the snow with each step.

Playing in the snow is hard work! :-)

You went hurley-ing down the hill .....

It looks like you had a great day!

Sledding!!! I would like so much to do this someday.
Jorgeman on the sled: fantastic!
Hehehe
=)

I have to say I am not entirely surprised it was bumpy, given you appear to be sledding on approximately 2mm of snow! Come to Canada and sled on multiple feet of snow, for a smoother ride!

The secret to good sledging is teamwork! You need a reliable brake man as well as a kick ass driver... Me and my son make a great team!

(cusioning also helps!)

Radzinski says -- A DHARMA sled would have had a better ride.

Glad you had fun in out in the snow!

Sledding ROCKS!!!

That's awesome Jorge. I miss sledding after I moved from Michigan to Arizona. Part of the reason it's so bumpy is because you have such little snow!

Sam said...

ahaha you guys are so cute. You remind me a lot of my husband and I!

I wanna do this, too ): But here is no hills here...

Jorge,

I loved sledding when I was younger. We had a yellow sled called a 'banana peel.' I think I ran it into too many trees! As a physicist would tell you 'its not the speed that hurts, but the sudden stop.'

Jorge, I'm glad you enjoyed the snow so much, but having grown up in Boston, I could have imparted this bit of wisdom: Sledding is WAY overrated. lol

Irishcoda said...

I loved sledding! It so much fun! Did you make a video called The Cat's Meow? If you did, it was hilarious!

I hear a Three Dog Night tune in my head while watching this. I wonder why.

Wiconsin Gardener said...

It's only bumpy like that because you had a small snow base that was packed hard by people walking on it. If you ever get the chance to go again, hope for a base of at least 3 inches of snow, and then find a place that hasn't been walked on. The first time over, you will have to make a path. Then, the second, third, fourth and fifth time, you will have a lot of fun... and no sore back.

Love ya, Jorge. Glad you got the chance to play in the snow!

I grew up in Boston, where we'd use baking sheets to sled down the hills in the local park. And, we'd go to the aboretum and race dogs down...the videos almost make me miss living in snow. Almost.

I moved to Montana two years ago but I have yet to go sledding... or played in the snow really. Need big enough snow pants first. heh.

But really, I wanted to share this painting I did of you (well, as Hurley, which I am aware you are not, but it is your face, heh), with you.

Cheers,
Jodee

I'm here in Wisconsin, close to a ski hill that has tubing (along with skiing and boarding.) If you'd gone about 45 minutes north, you'd have been here - we got dumped with snow right before Christmas. Next time, come on up!

Until then, you can play a snowball fight game :)
