This is great! I took these pictures in a movie theatre one day. I wanted to post them as "not something you want to see in a movie theatre."
But lo and behold, I had no idea that this theme would return and re-inspire.

You should see how big they are in Fiji. We had to leave the lights on at night in our hotel room. LOL.
Ewww! If they're bigger than that in Fiji, that's a place I don't need to go. What's really scary, is when they're that big (or bigger ) and they fly. *shudders*

I just moved from LA to Georgia, in LA bugs like those mean you are somewhere that is dirty and unkept. Here in Georgia they are just a part of life. So NASTY! H
Oh HELL no.....can't do cockroaches. If it'll crunch when I squish it, I call in the reinforcements. That's the man's job. I don't even wanna know....having said that, I love camping, so go figure...LOL
Ahhh, Hawaii. The time to get concerned is when you STOP seeing them everywhere!

This is what I face in Tallahassee Florida every day. Cockroaches are legion! I usually introduce the vicious beasties to a watery burial at sea!! FLUSH
eghhh, gross.
Burial at sea works only if they drown. Which they don't.
Bug spray just makes them loopy, then they fly crooked which makes them even more obnoxious.
Unfortunately, like vampires, they must be staked then burned.
Too much trouble, I say.
Like Cher and Madonna, we just have to put up with them -- they'll outlive us all.
Also not something you want to see on the interwebs. Especially if you have an irrational screaming-and-running-away fear of them.
oh, so gross. Just one of the joys of living in paradise! It's one thing I will NEVER miss about Hawaii.
Here in Philly in the summertime, if you walk outside there's an ARMY OF THEM all over the sidewalks! Call in the troops! Ughh!
Ugh!! I lived in FL for a couple of years, and Palmetto bugs were everywhere. Once, at work, our receptionist rolled her chair over one (by mistake), and all this nasty, cottage-cheesy stuff came squishing out.

Ewww! I'm glad I don't see many of those up in Canada. Even on my fall trip to NYC I was surprised to only come across one the whole time I was there (he was walking down the sidewalk)
Although a few times a year we do have do deal with one or 2 of these..

Yup - not as common here in Canada, although I saw a freaking huge one at the concession stand of the local drive-in theater. Yuck :(
What did ya go see at the theater? Madagascar 2? Maybe they were Madagascar hissing beetles. Y'know....for atmosphere.

Here is another gross cockroach story:
I was supervising after school programs. One day I went to a site to do quality checks, etc. When I got there the first thing the site supervisor said was, "you might not want to set down your bag." And then she told me, "and don't use the phone. It stopped working and it turns out that there are cockroaches inside of it. Can we buy a new phone?" Eeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww!
Oh my, a warning next time please. I have two phobias. One is vomit (Can proudly say I have an 18 year streak. Yes, I know this is weird.) and roaches. I had never seen one until I moved from Virginia to New Orleans. I think their fast movements and how they can change direction so quickly is what scares me so much. Like if I'm not fast enough, they will crawl right up my leg and kill me. What mystifies me is that they can survive nuclear holocaust but if they flip over onto their backs, they'll eventually die. Weird.
Eeeeew! Pretty huge! Did you give it a name? IPO could be good! I read that's the hawaiian name for darling, sweetheart. Glob!
