Catching Up
So I've been catching up on my summer movies and I'm finding a recurring theme in them. I saw a movie a day for the last three days. And every one of these movies had messages about taking care of our earth. Wall-E might have been my favorite. They handled the message with subtlety. Other movies (like The Happening) kinda forced the message down my throat. The biggest culprit? The Incredible Hulk. I mean we get it he's "green!"

Wow, it's been too long since I've seen a movie. Is "The Happening" any good? Personally, I'm looking forward to the new "X-Files" movie coming out in 3 weeks.

I'm not so sure I can agree Wall*e was subtle, but The Incredible Hulk is garishly green!
I can never manage to stay awake for an entire movie.. I wish I could, theres so many Id like to see to the end...
I was personally offended by wall-e and I dont think I could watch it again.
I have been out of the new movie loop this year... I never seem to make it to the theatre anymore :-( I want to see Wall-E and The Dark Knight when it comes out!
I am not surprised about the "green" theme. I think that the best way to get the message through to people, while still keeping them entertained, is the movies. Now, it shouldn't be EVERY movie LOL but it seems that when there is a movie about a subject, people tend to take more notice. Now the Hulk does take green to the extreme!
On the same sort of subject, I wish more Californians had listened to the Gov. when he asked that people try to cut down or not buy fireworks this year :-/ I like lighting fireworks as much as the next person, but when the mountains surrounding you are on fire, causing the smoke to gather in the Central Valley and then you add more smoke from fire works to the mix.... cough cough! There goes our air quality! Celebrate our freedom by soiling mother nature! Yay!
the happening was terrible. i have completely given up on m. night shamalamadingdong.
Hm I hated The Happening. In general I do like M. Night Shyamalan but this was just... well bad.
Now Dark Knight and X-files well I'm trying not to expect too much because it usually disappoints...
I don't go to many movies, and I usually like M. Night's, but that one was just an excuse for carnage. There was no point.

We saw Wall-e the other days. Made me cry!!!
hehehe I like the hulk...I wanted to be gree for a week after that.
We caught "Hancock" yesterday. He saved a whale - well, sort of. Does that count?

Movies? what are those? (as I bury my head in another paper I'm writing)
My man won't go see WALL*E because of that. We saw Hancock instead. It was just fun. I'm looking forward to the new Mummy and Journey to the Center of the Earth! Oh, and Hellboy 2 :-)
I really liked Wall E. Especially loved the cockroach, - kinda cute!!

Wall-E is okay, but honestly the rest of the moviesphere and tv shows cramming this down my throat make me want to run outside and start spraying aerosol cans into the wind as an act of rebellion and protest to being told how to think and behave. Enough already. I want entertainment, not propaganda. Sheesh.
I kinda liked the Happening so-bad-it-was-sort-of-good. I closed my eyes for all the gruesome parts - I couldn't help it.
I think it would have been better not to show it.
You see how many times the mike booms were in a shot? Editors are going to be hurting now that it's hit theatres. I would not want my name listed on that mess! It happened at least 5 times.
It scared me lots because my Nana's house was in it - and that doll woman was kind of my Nana too! Eek!
I've heard Wall E is really sweet - it looks like it's going to make me cry.
You couldn't pay me to watch the Hulk. How hard up are those 2 guys?!
My brother-in-law is a Disney semi-big-wig and he took us to the studio lot the weekend that Wall-e came out and we ended up seeing it at one of the executive screenings. It's the only time I've ever been to a movie where no one left until the end credits were over and then everyone clapped like crazy. It was great. We also parked in a Bad Robot parking space, but, you know, I'd appreciate if you kept that on the DL.
