So sad. While running errands we had the idea to go swing by the Christmas tree tent in the Don Quijote parking lot. It's fun we just pull up along side the open flap and inhale the aroma of lovely Christmas conifers.
But someone had to pass gas in the car. (For the record it was not me.)
And no matter how hard I sniffed, or how far I hung my head out the window. I could not even catch a whiff of tree. I just couldn't escape the smell. The smell that ruined Christmas.

C'mon you can tell us who it was... was it Josh or Daniel? ;) J/K
I love reading your blog btw!
i hate it when something like this happens.
one year we had something similar happen... only it was the gas from a truck in front of us that ruined it all...
Now I will think of this story every time I pass that Don Quijote. Speaking of trees, if you haven't already gotten one you should check out Helemano Farms in Wahiawa. They have very cool Norfolk pines (not really a "pine") that you can choose on site and they will chop it for you there. Very affordable, PLUS no mainland invasive species included, and the tree stump will regrow! We just got ours yesterday. It definitely gives Christmas an island feel.
well Jorge, you have so much time to pass over this awful episode...and breathe again the xmas atmosphere
any witness that can state you are 'not guilty'?
I'm still trying to reconcile the whole Christmas tree smell thing in Hawaii. You'd think since I live in Southern California it wouldn't be such a problem. But it is. Just one of the quirks that makes me, me.
Well, sorry to say, Jorge, but I think this Christmas is a wash for you. Sigh. There's always next year. Just kidding. We're going out this weekend to get our tree, eat cookies, drink hot cider and eggnog and do the Rocky Horror Christmas Story thing. You know, where we all say the words along with the screen: "You'll shoot your eye out!" and the Little Orphan Annie decoder ring. I ask you, does it get any better than that? Post a picture of your tree!
Saludos desde España
LOL! It must've been either my step-father or my ex-boyfriend.
Hey, at least you know what offer this guy for X-mas... a cork.
That's the advantage of hanging with us girls... we don't do this kind of thing :)
Don't worry, the Ghost Of Christmas Past will remind them every year that they did that to ya. :o)
If you came here in neaples (Italy)
u may smell some fresh and x mas air!
1000 kisses
Awwww...maybe try going by again when it's just you in the car, we don't smell our own, right?
Yo, just found your blog. I read it all in one sitting.
How strange is that?
Keep blogging! I can't wait until the season gets started, along with lots of other people.
Hope Hawaii is teh awesome.
hey man, whoever smelt it dealt it
I passed a fair bit of gas today so i'm assuming it was me.
Wow, gas that can ruin a Christmas that's still a month away? Gross yes, but very impressive.
thank you, deneph. finally, someone who appreciates me.
Awesome.
For me.
Not you.

Llama - You're welcome. And to quote Mystery Men, "I won't stand behind you, but I will fight beside you".
Well, we could talk about something interesting....mmmmm....what about the writer's strike? This is not about Lost, you can write about this.
Is it the strike's end in sigh?
Please,please :)
Hey Im Chilean too...although not half Im full, weird. Anyway, your my favorite character on Lost, rock on loco (dude)!
I can honestly say this was my least favorite Rankin Bass Christmas special
There is a Don Quijote in Hawaii!
I live in La Mancha. Everything here is Don Quijote. Quijote Arena, Quijote Airport, the future casinos of Reino de Don Quijote...
I believe that in japan everything is Fuji. Fuji mountain, Fuji Film...
I hate Quijote. If I were japanese I would hate Fuji. But I am spanish.
