I had to do that as a teen. I tried every trick in the book to get out of it, including sticking unshelled lima beans in with the shelled ones - moms have a second sense about these types of things so it never worked. In fact last summer I was visiting my mother and she picked and I shelled some lima beans. But when it came time to eat, I didn't want any lima beans. However that didn't stop my mother from loading my plate. The conversation that ensued went something like this.

JH: Mom I don't want any lima beans.
MOM: Nonsense their good for you.
JH: Mom I'm (insert appropriate age here) years old and I'll eat what I want.
MOM: Nonsense, you’re in my house and I'm (insert moms age here - I don't feel like committing suicide by revealing her age) and I still eat them.
JH: Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!James Hernandezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11906868287074459796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4709135205683579877.post-8767892539002211082009-04-08T12:48:00.000-07:002009-04-08T12:48:00.000-07:00oh! lima beans were my favorite when i was a kid!...oh! lima beans were my favorite when i was a kid! every birthday, when we could choose whatEVer we wanted for dinner, i always chose: frozen lima beans. srsly!heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15997569159900760812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4709135205683579877.post-33800713141242175932009-04-08T12:46:00.000-07:002009-04-08T12:46:00.000-07:00Hang in there!
