Sunset on the Beach is Tonight

It's been three seasons since we were there last. But tonight we're back for one final time to celebrate the show in Waikiki.

I heard people were staking their spots in the sand at 8:00 this morning. I hope you guys packed sunscreen. See you tonight.

And here I thought it was a typo

I was reading an ingredient list and came across the words "rapeseed oil." My first reaction was someone left the G off of grape seed oil right? But apparently it is not a typo.

Rapeseed oil is what Canola oil is. Canola oil actually means CANadian Oil, Low Acid. It's totally understandable because, let's face it "rapeseed oil" is a marketing nightmare.

In fact when I was googling to find a picture of the plant most pictures called these flowers rapeseed blossoms instead of what they are, rapes. Just fields and fields of rape.

Pretty Cool Posters

This guy created some sweet looking LOST posters.
The artist is Ty Mattson.

Last Time I Was In LA

I stayed a night at the Palomar
and got upgraded to the presidential suite.

It was pretty nice. I was a little bummed I couldn't really enjoy it because it was late, I was tired and had an early pick up. So I pretty much went straight to bed.

But figuring that I might not get to stay in the presidential suite again, I poked around a little first.

Both closets had two sets each of these little cheetah print camisole and shorts combos for sale.
On top of that the robes they provide were zebra and leopard print. It's all part of Palomar's theme of unleashing your "wild side."

So if you ever want to shoot a music video. Do it there. Wardrobe is already taken care of.

The other thing I was really impressed by was how deep the tub was.

This is me standing in it.
It had jacuzzi jets too.
I was going to shoot a picture of myself sitting in it. But when I sat down I discovered it was wet. And it soaked my pants through to the underwear.
Luckily those shorts were in the closet.

Thank You Scotty Pippeh-eh-eh-en

My new favorite-song-this-minute showed up while I was catching up on my DVR.

The Cleveland Show (which by the way has the best theme song currently running on TV)

Warning: It might not be appropriate for work.

Warning: If you're anything like me, you might find yourself singing this song for days.

Snuggie 2.0 = Slanket

When I was visiting my sister this Christmas I checked out her Slanket. It's basically in the same family as the Snuggie but like softer.

And everything I thought would improve the Snuggie back when I tried it previously on this blog actually exists on the Slanket and then some. THEY HAVE THE FOOT POCKET! Slanket totally trumps Snuggie folks. They even have a front pocket so you never have to give up control of the remote.

So if your looking to get a blanket with sleeves there is one way to go.

Unless you're so adventurous to get the siamese one.
Yikes.

Greetings

When I found myself in Laguna Beach over the holidays I had to stop and take a picture with "The Greeter."
I used to wave at this statue all of the time when I was a little kid and we'd drive by it. I'm glad it's still here.

The Magic Finger Glove

When we were in Wisconsin I wanted to get a pair of gloves that were more functional than the ones I had packed. While browsing the selection at the Pick 'n Save I found these. I know they're a little hard to see because they're camouflage and all but the index finger had a different smoother material around it.

I figured this is a hunting glove and the index is for your trigger finger. Right? It's for the trigger finger isn't it? I mean even if it isn't tell me it is.

Nice Find

I just saw this on the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon Website.

Playin' Werewolf

One of the highlights of my trip to Wisconsin was playing in the largest game of Werewolves of Millers Hollow I've ever played.
We ended up having nineteen people in one game.

Werewolves of Millers Hollow is the greatest party game ever. It is the hands down favorite amongst our friends. If you've ever played Mafia, it's the same game only with werewolves (thus better).

The group is divided into Townspeople and Werewolves. The Werewolves kill one townsperson each night. The next morning the Townspeople debate and eventually execute one Townsperson they suspect of being a werewolf. The game becomes a race for the town to find all of the werewolves before the wolves murder everyone in the town.

This version is our personal favorite but you can also find versions called "Are You a Werewolf?" and "Lupus in Tabula." I highly recommend it if you ever have minimum of eight people at your house.

Then we went sledding.
It was bumpier than I thought it'd be.

In the Snow II

So the next thing I wanted to cross off my snow to-do list was to make a snowman or something.

I went with a bear which I figured you'd appreciate.

It's smaller than I wanted it but this was my first time working in the medium of snow.

In the Snow

My first snow-based activity this Christmas was scraping the windows of the car.
Most of it was really just sweeping off the powder snow from the glass. There wasn't much ice build up.
I had to do it a lot.
It got old pretty fast.

Happy New Year

Something I'll definitely miss about New Years in Lanikai is the annual neighborhood parade.

The "Woes Parade."
People get dressed up
(yes that is a dead rat - go figure)

juggle
and put together floats
or just ride their boat trailers.

And they vent. A bunch of people had signs about the furlough days we've been having.
(The little girl in the gold t-shirt was holding a sign that read, "Will work for an education.")
And sometimes they just show off the fact that their car has a treasure chest.
