CELLULITIS?!

Well I'd like to thank you all for scaring me into thinking I have cellulitis?

But I looked up the treatment for cellulitis. And the treatment is an antibiotic which I am already taking for my sore throat.

So I'm pretty sure the odds are against.

(But I do think I got an extra dose of poison from the sting because I "pinched" the stinger out.)

Hehe, sorry, Jorge. Wasn't trying to scare you, but it's better to be safe than sorry, right? And, dude, untreated cellulitis would've made you sooo sorry. ;)

I didn't mean to scare you either, Jorge, but Heather's right. I still say "Ben-a-dryl", though. Until the swelling goes down. The hand is really vascular and you can get a dramatic reaction there, but it should knock it down pretty quickly.

So, you've never said. What do you want to find in your stocking tomorrow?

They are right Jorge, this is an allergic reatio0n. That's why it wasn't this bad the first time you were stung (when you reached under a lampshade) and this time it is so much worse.

Take a Benadryl. (Diphenhydramine if you like generics). If the itching and swelling go down, then tada! You are allergic to bee venom. Easy fix!

There's some bad news that goes with that, though. If you are allergic to bee venom, then you are going to have to see a doctor at some point so that you can get a prescription for an EpiPen. You really ought to carry that around with you in future, just in case you get bitten and have a quick, major reaction. An EpiPen is just a syringe of epinephrine that you can simply inject into your leg if you get bitten again and avoid this whole messy and potentially dangerous allergic reaction. It sounds much worse than it really is, honest--Ive had them for years.

Nothing to panic over, just something to address when you can so that you're prepared.
